A medium cabernet that opened up as the meal drew on. Blackberries and blueberries at the get go followed by a little Sonoma earthiness. Minimal tannins. All in all, a good wine with the flavors of Chicken Casablanca

Medium cab nose with more oak than fruit. Begins tart giving the wine a young feel but finishes dry. Good wine for a crowd of different tastes.

This is a big hype wine at a price point that in my opinion is over priced and over matched by competitors. Manufactured by The Doobies Bros manager and for his sake he needs to lower the price or hope the day job doesn't derail. Mild in presentation and kind of ordiary and blasé.

Nothing special. Descent over-extracted dark berries with sharp tannins.

Popped and poured. Had with Ribeye and Chicken off the grille. Nice wine, needs some air time to open up, but a decent Cab for the price point. Distinct "Cab" nose, some oak, cedar, red fruit through the mid-palate. Straight-forward style. Note to self, decant 30-40 minutes.

Heavy on alcohol. Let it rest for 30 minutes. Opens with fruit and finishes with vanilla mixed with oak. Buy again.

Rich garnet with a reserved nose of vanilla, spice, cassis, and plums. Soft in the mouth, with limited structure. Probably served too warm, and this contributed to the shortcomings of the wine. Flabby on the finish.

Very good. Cherries on the nose. Very dry (almost tart) flavors of cherry, oak, and Cedar. Borders on "Delicious" if not for the tartness--this may benefit from some additional time to relax the tightness. But this is a very nice wine now also.

Enjoyed 2 bottles over the last 4 days at home, just "quaffing" wine with at home meals or just in front of the fire place - my wife and I both put it at the very high end of modestly priced full bodied reds. In a blind tasting, we'd bet that it would rival many top names. Lots of fruit but zero cloying, sweet "red pop" that you find in other inexpensive cabs; maybe not the best on complexity - …

We simply ate it with the wrong food. Must do more cabernet's foods with it next time. I think we might like it, but not this time.

another bottle: color: tawny red x medium-dark purple; nose: oak, vanilla, earth; taste: medium-bodied mouth feel, rounded raspberry fruit taste, smooth medium-length finish with anise-bacon flavors and lingering tannins; overall: tasty company-caliber wine, easy to like from start to finish, very good QPR at $14/bottle and only getting better than it already was 4/7/12 - 88 points - color: purple velvet; nose: oak; taste: medium-bodied mouth feel, licorice x plum taste, leathery medium-to-longish finish backed by meaty tannins; overall: above-average …

Nice cab for the price. A bit on the harsh side though. May just be young. Might buy more but there are others i like better.

Faint nose of black fruit. Taste is very non descriptive. Just a plain wine. Won't buy again.

Young, so it needs plenty of time to open, but it has excellent fruit if you are patient. Very well made, with the oak clearly evident without over-shadowing the wine. I hate when strong oak is used to mask mediocre wine, but that is not the case here.

Took a while too open up. Way too young for me. Had a glass the next day that finally had some fruit smell and it became fairly sweet to start but kept a decent level of tannins in the finish. Not so much my style. Maybe in five years.

Rich color. Legs on glass were very apparent. Tannins were mild. Vanilla on finish is accurate. NS after bottle.

Giant Wine Sale & Tasting 4/21/2012 (Cellar on Greene, Columbia, SC) : Made in a more light and elegant style, this wine leans more toward the red fruit side of things, like cranberry. Despite being on the light side, there are still some serious cabernet style flavors and aromas, and a big dose of oak. This is kind of the civilized version, not overextracted. Color is like that of a dark Pinot. Nose has some of that herbaceous, mineral, and …

This was my favorite vintage so far of this wine. It had very nice structure and a notable cracked pepper on the mid-palatte that I liked, as well as the fruit characteristcs of previous tasting notes.
