Dark cherry, balsamic, leather, some earth, very silky smooth texture. Unfortunately, slightly oxidized and a few years past peak drinking window for this bottle. Still very drinkable and decent. Drink now.

A Tasting of 1964 Gran Reserva Rioja and Even Older White Rioja! (Los Gatos, California) : Light ruby. Excellent maturing Rioja. Lighter weight, very good complexity.

Similar color as bottle enjoyed two weeks ago. But more mature palate. Much more sediment in this bottle compared to prior one. Leather, iodine, some drying tannins, smooth, with little to no fruit. Recommend drink up.

Much better at 20 years than it was at 15. Deep crystalline maroon color. Little to no sediment. With PnP, fruit is shining, leather, cinnamon, hint of tannin. Balanced for future improvement next 5 years, at least.

Deep ruby in glass, lightening at rim. Spicy red fruits on first pour, turning to sour cherry, leather and herbs. Dusty tannins after 60 minutes. Early maturity. Should continue to age well 5 - 10+ years more.

Smooth with dark red fruits when opened. Drying tannins add complexity after 2 hours in glass. Firm and smooth after remaining in decanter overnight. Early maturity. Should last a long time.

Dark ruby. intense dark red fruited bouquet. Dark red fruits, sour cherry, on a silky and smooth palate. Medium bodied. Best with PnP and over the first hour. Became slightly volatile second hour.

This bottle was more Burgundy than Bordeaux with silky sour cherry, leather and earth. Should continue becoming smoother over next 1-2 years, but hard to keep from drinking these sooner.

Deep red, lighter at edge. Nice secondary notes of leather and earth with dry tannins for a smooth and elegant feel on palate without decanting. Started to fade after a few hours, and was better with a lamb steak than on its own.

Wow wine! Very good from start to to finish! May be time for taste is coming. I consumed this wine with allion 2009 and Psi 2010. This one is the best wine of the eveninig, after 3 hours of decanting. Enjoy it right now!

Probably a couple of years over. Primary fruit is not as lively as expected, smooth tannins become bitter on the finish as the fruit ends abruptly. Very little secondary aromas to complement. Shame.

Vanilj och dill. Körsbär och fat. Dofter som sprider sig i köket efter jag hällt över vinet på karaff. En klassisk fyllig Rioja med hög syra och medel tanniner. Kalla mig gammaldags men jag gillar den här stilen. Saknade dock något, inget som sticker ut eller förvånar mig. Men hemlagade tapas blev en "perfect match"

Q1 Tasting - Spanish wines (The Apartment) : Wine #12: Not as old as Wine #11, but still had that very noticeable old wine flavor to it. The fruit was still very present here as well. Interesting. In general I like my wines with some age, but I did miss some of the brighter flavors that the younger Spanish wines had with this one.

Smooth, with fresh acidity and a faint hint of oregano on palate. Fruit has faded, and some drying tannins emerge after 30 minutes, but secondary notes have not yet emerged. Better in 2 years, should hold for 3-4 after that.

Bigger than the 08 Reserva, and with higher acid, as one would expect. A bit light on the palate, but I think it's pretty solid, doesn't have the problems the Reserva does.

Took long time to open. First impression was that this wine is corked. Good company for meal, but still a bit too earthy and rustic for my taste. For a Rioja mild scent, short after taste, pretty good sructure, but not much fruit left. Not worth 20€.

Garnet, no bricking. Sweet, generous, lactic nose, with ripe plum fruit, American oak, and sweet tobacco. Full bodied, ripe fruit, obvious malo extract, plum fruit. Crisp finish, red fruits coming back, iron filings. Maybe not the longest of finishes and a bit one-dimensional, which stops it from being an outstanding wine, but a fine specimen nevertheless. Turning orange on rims. Nose: floral, cherries, strawberry, gamey. Palate: follows nose, feels fresh, modern, well balanced, medium (+) finish.

Lots of cherry, blackberry vanilla , chocolate and peppery. Good all round with enough tannin for stracture.Drink now.

Vin rubis foncé au pourtour cerise aux reflets ambrés Nez de fruits noirs, café, épices douces, léger boisé et note florale. En bouche acidité fraîche, tanins souples, légère amertume de chocolat noir, longueur moyenne en finale courte. Vin souple, facile à boire.

Nose: some rioja oak and maturity tones a typical nose for a mature rioja wine. Attack: lemonjuice and sweet licorace. Some sweet cherries too. Midpalate: Earth, maturity tones, lemon juice and some sweet mint. Nice body. pencil shavings too. finish: sweet and sour with some mints. pretty dry still some tannins left. Drink this wine now. it´s not very complex but a really good wine for the money. 91 minus rating.
