I believe this wine is 65% Cinsault and 35% Carignan, from what I recall it was brawny and structured in youth. Dark ruby garnet core with slight bricking at the rim. The nose is powerful and mineral laden with aromas of blackberries, camphor, crushed violets, flint, forest floor, and herbs de provence. Interesting and unexpected. Had the body/mouthfeel/flavor profile of a ripasso, but with more flowery notes. Also had some dark chocolate notes similar to a ruby port. Good and different.

Nose has some funk & raw meat tones layered over black raspberry. Similarly, tastes earth & dried herbs intermingled with full--but not overpowering, laid back--black raspberries & cherries. Finish has a slightly milky texture. Polished, full, fairly long with good acid and balanced structure. Really great, but probably best to drink this year

Initially a bit flat on the nose but after about a half hour the wine opened up to reveal dark black cherry fruit, purple florals, black licorice and a bit of tar/asphalt.
