Good fruit to oak balance, sturdy tanins, raisin and black currant notes. Oregano, my wife says. Will be perfect for my burgers!

I brought this back from Argentina five years ago, and aged it since . . . and I shouldn't have. This has not aged well. The palate is dark and shows notes of blueberry/blackberry, but the fruit is clearly waning and we are left, currently, with a wine that is sharp, acidic and lacking. Almost certainly should have been enjoyed much younger. Don and Liz's place.

Brought to Ali's wine dinner. Mixed opinion on if it had "turned".

Big body with complex mix of leather, menthol and tar with a long finish. Love this wine. Wish a I had purchased a few more bottles of this juice.

A nose of dark fruit and spice, dark black in color. A full bodied Malbec, with black cherry, blueberry, raspberry, and mesquite smoky finish, a very good QPR.

More fruity than the rich, strong, velvet taste I prefer. But still rewarding for the buy.

Very dark ruby. Nice aroma and good focus of flavors with dark fruit and prunes. Still needs a couple of years of bottle age to soften up and integrate the tannins that are not very course anyway. Well balanced and good length and pleasant finish.

I've had limited experience with Malbec, mostly from Argentina and the Cahors region of France. Most of my small sample set have been "ok", some verging on "good" while others veer toward disappointing. Until this bottle. This is the first Malbec I've tried that I'd call "serious" (I know there's a lot of serious Malbec out there, but I just haven't run across them). On the nose, fragrant dark fruits and spice with background whiffs of meat and a touch …

As good if not better than my note from 8/10. Outstanding depth of fruit along with great spice and earth. Lengthy finish. Agree with Kingofwine that this can easily go at least 2-3 more years. Wish I had bought more at 20.

Dark blood red hue with serious density in the glass. Strong floral bouquet backed by fresh oak aromas, all signs of a more expensive offering. I let it breathe in the glass for half an hour before tasting. Was struck by bold blackberry flavours with a hint of fig paste, followed by a good 30sec finish. Tannins are still present, so I don't know why J.S. of W.S. is capping it at 2011. This wine's got a few more good …

Started out slightly boring on the first night - rich fruit and oak - good balance, but very average. On night 3 however, this really blossomed - the fruit was very fresh and clean and the oak was nowhere to be seen. Cassis, tart blackberries dominated the palate. A touch of citrus on the finish. Long and very clean. Glad I let the bottle sit in the fridge. Very tasty malbec.

Popped and poured. Consumed over about three hours. Pretty difficult to get excited about this. Lots of oak on the nose. Palate has notes of pine sap and cloying, generic berry fruit but is dominated by a massive structure with grippy tannins and mouth-drying acidity. I think a few years in the bottle or a really long decant is in order to experience what this wine *may* have to offer.

Attractive, substantive nose showing deep berry that opened up substantially with aereation; palate likewise blossomed into bright red fruit (initial medicinal aspect to palate blew off within one hour of opening); medium to low acidity; close to peaking with some concentrated goodness now. 50/5/13/16/7

Just delicious. Great oak age on the nose. rich blackberry pie flavor. I really liked the mouthwatering acidity--great to go with the tangy. chimichurri sauce or meaty Asian citrus fare.

Fruit forward and very smooth on one hand but little or no structure on the other. My personal preference is for my wine to be a little more complex than this one.

Little nose, with currant and plums on the tongue. Definitely improved with air (after vacuvin, the second day was smooth and opened nicely).

Very dark color, nose was somewhat one-dimensional. Lots of oak and vanilla and dark fruit (strong black cherries/kirsch). All carried to palate with some complexity, but not tons. Would be enjoyable with a cigar or good hard cheese but was great fun on its own. A little pricey for what it delivered. Popped and poured and left a few hours to finish, no real change in character. No decant. Smoothed somewhat in the glass.

I tried this back on July 10 at the WL "bring a bottle" event in NYC after tasting about 70 other wines that night, and it caught my attention. Trying it again now with NC smoked baby back ribs, it did not disappoint. Vinturi-aerate to decanter and serve. Color deep red loaded with black tones, opaque, full body. Effusive brooding bouquet (but doesn't seem OTT) with black currants, ripe plums, brighter notes of red cherries, licorice, something floral, tobacco leaf, …

Leisurely left open a few hours in the bottle, figured a young wine like this would like a little air, and probably the correct call. Nothing too exciting on the nose, but this was a well made, solid malbec. The blue and black fruits were ripe yes, but in more of a Carlisle Zin kind of way, that is plenty of spice and structure to prevent it from being bloozy or tiresome. The midpalate had a nice layer of asphalt, …

Tasted at Pappas' Argentinian tasting. Must try again. Very good fruit, structure and depth. Long finish. Improved with air. Drink now or in a couple of years.
