I liked the nose here - this was classic Chassagne with its aromas of fleshy white fruit and melons, sweet nectar and honeysuckle flowers, all underlined with a little chalky mineral notes. Clearly 09, forward, ripe, but indeed with freshness. Ripe and balanced. This was very good, but i have tasted more convincing chardonnay at this pricepoint and i don t see this ageing well. I d love to taste amiot in less ripe vintages

Orange blossoms with lime and fresh wafers. More mineral.

My Birthday Celebration (Park Palace, Grand Park Hotel) : I had forgotten having had this wine before. While still good, I was not quite as impressed with this bottle as I was with the last. Astounding nose for a white. Great fat one with fantastic integration. Intense and with great acidity.

Burgundy or Maybe Not - dinner with Fabrice Amiot of Domaine Guy Amiot (Kingyo, Marina Square) : I am not normally a big fan of 2009 white Burgs, but this was really excellent. Grapefruit, orange blossoms and sappy nose. Oily and fatty, ripe citrus fruits and well balanced acidity, chewy asparagus, honeysuckle and guava on the middle. Big fresh finish. Firm structure along with vibrant ripe fruitiness. Good potential.

Still tight but otherwise balanced.
