Popped and poured. Light lemon cream aroma. Vibrant flavors of tart apricot, lichee, minerals. Rich lemon finish. Steel backbone, fresh, young, intense, some complexity. This wine will probably outlive me. Outstanding QPR.

This absolutely blew me away. PnP (corked with a Diam) and the longer the bottle was open, the better it became. Drinking this is like biting into a lemon while sitting on a sunny beach with a gentle salty breeze and some Kenny Loggins in air. The concentration is off the chart. An engaging and complex nose of preserved citrus, pineapple and lavender. The palate has a wealth of fruit yet everything is drawn in and contained. It oozes saline minerality and cries out for seafood. It is textural and has good cut and thriust.

From magnum. Côte d’Or really nails it in terms of the flavors, and we clearly drank this too young but have another magnum to try in a few years. Even better than before, this is developing beautifully. The nose is now very attractive, a blend of fresh lemon and sea spray, with hints of honey and fennel, leading into a much softer mouthful of honeyed lemon, intense but subtle, the richness contained by the crisp acidity. Excellent value and just shows why these Crus are so fascinating.

Epic Blind Tasting with Great Buds (Virginia) : The nose is infused with chalk, slate, crushed shells, and oyster brine, over lemon wedges, orange peels, some white peach. There's a pleasantly creamy texture with tart lemon/lime and lots of crunchy minerals and stony vibes, with some floral nuances in the finish. Blind guess: 2013 Servin Chablis MdT. Should've known it was Muscadet!

A Charity event plus two days of birthday celebration; a memorable three day weekend.; 10/13/2023-10/15/2023 (Samish Hill, Bellingham, WA) : Served with Sumo-Kumo (larger, older kumomoto) oysters. Of course I liked it; it's Clos des Briords. That said, it's not my favorite vintage of this. More dense and round, heavier on the fruit and lighter on the mineral and limestone than typcially.

There wasn't anything specifically wrong with this wine, I just didn't find it very interesting. Dry, bright, fruity, lemon, lime, a hint of apple. Initially seems medium body but going to almost watery on the back palate. Mild mineral presence. Best with food, boring for just sipping.

Charity Wine Function for Whatcom Hospice House (Samish Hill, Bellingham, WA) : I always love Pépière’s Clos des Briords. This seemed a little more dense and ripe than typically, and a bit less cut. Still, a triumph in a challenging vintage.

To be honest, not my favorite effort from one of my favorite Domaines, but it says a lot when it ends up still being a very drinkable wine, an "anytime white wine". Stony, citrus notes, eases up a bit in texture with a bit of air and softens pleasantly. Would recommend to drink this rather cold; each time I've had this wine (this is my 4th), the alcohol starts jutting out if it even warms up a bit.

I have had the Clisson on just one prior occasion, the 2015 vintage. While this is a nice wine, it pales in comparison to the 2015. This vintage is a bit rounder, and does not have the impact of the stellar 2015. Still, a good wine.
