Domaine de Verquiere Côtes du Rhône Villages Plan de Dieu

The epitome of a ripe but delicate, complete and moderate earthy red wine from the Côte du Rhone. Surprising clear color that has more purple tinge than most. The nose has that refreshing aroma of a fermentation cellar with red fruit and CO2 escaping. So smooth and approachable. Some indication of alcohol on both nose and palate. Nice secondary aromas and flavors of licorice and wet tobacco leaf. Some pretty serious dry tannins that will help it age a bit.
