Masseria Li Veli Salice Salentino Pezzo Morgana

This is one of last two bottles. We bought after visiting the region. It is very full and excellent finish.

Medium garnet color. Pretty aromatics of both red (cranberries, red cherries, strawberries) and dark berries, some tobacco, some dried figs. It's medium bodied, fresh wih medium+ acidity and medium tannin. Medium length. This is not the last word about complexity or mid-palate density but a lovely wine with a lot of freshness and character from this indigenous grape variety.

A great everyday wine. At Italia

Dark ruby, tending to garnet, not too deep, clear. Fleshy dark cherries, it gives you a sense of warmth, but it's airy too. At times some VA shows up. Quite good. On the palate you feel those fleshy cherries too, with some pungency and earthiness. A bit of cranberries. Slightly drying. Light on it's feet. Plump and fresh red fruit. A little brown sugar barrel thought in the aromas. Pretty herbal notes.

Everytime I taste this wine its getting better and better. A little bit like Pinot, Bill says a low acid syrah. Something to think about.

This is a Susumaniello. I guess I didn't credit the producer with the imagination to make things like Susmaniello. Tasty and interesting at $20. Nice elegance for Pulgia.
