Mauricio Lorca Syrah Uco Valley

Pours a deep ruby with legs like sheer curtains. Nose not heavy with fruit -- cigar and spent petrol along with vegetal/pepper scents obscure the dark berries. Flavors of blackberry and raspberry are assisted by acids that bring out graphite and metallic notes. Subtle pepper and earth come in later. Tannins and body are both rather hefty. An astringent, long finish made me overeat the barbecue chicken, cheddar, fruit salsa, squash, and garlic vegetables that all paired very nicely. More …
