Janisson & Fils Champagne Grand Cru Blanc de Noir

Yep this is excellent! Lovely aged character on the nose with some oxy citrus peel, baked apple, brioche little honey. The palate is wild showing great depth and concentration with chalky texture, and mineral streak into a long satisfying finish.

Pre-Halloween champagnes : Thought this was a Chardonnay dominant blend from an in-between grower/house and a warm vintage like '09. Opulent but with refined citrus fruit, some development but not yet at the oxidative stage. Much better than the Dizy Pinot Noir a few months ago.

waffling between 92 and 93 and 91 at first pour! you get it. nice but nothing special. some apple and pear thing, nice mouthfeel, good texture and balance but utterly average or below average in complexity. Beautiful golden colour. The nose shows confit lemons, almonds and some jasmine- delicate and profound. Gorgeous weight and chalky texture on the palate. The oxidative notes and the truffle/mushroom evolution does not dent its refinement. This is a super bottle.

Perfectly champagne'ish. Top notch. Giant, solid nose of maturation on lees (until 2015 according to bottle label) and splendid use of casks. Also mineralic backbone with punch of acidity in its recline. Really nice stuff. Can sustain many more years on its back. Next bottle will rest for another handful of years. Recommended!

Nose of overpowering brioche and a touch of sweet sherry. Palate is still quite fresh and delicate, beautiful light bubbles (quite fine and not noticeably bubbly) with lemon sherbet and some oxidative characteristics...but not as oxidative as a recent 2002 consumed. Such a great bottle! Knocked the sox off the Palmer 2002 bdb mag, the Heidsieck 1996 OMA and the 2008 Heidsieck Rose Reserve that came before it. Still quite light yellow. Nice bubbles. Great nose, grilled lemon, lime som honey and brioche. A distinct salty character that is unique to the wine. Quite firm in the mouth and great balance. Long aftertaste. Very attractive and terroir driven champagne and it shares som similarites to white Burgundy (Mersault?) Probably early in the drinking window and should develop over the next decade.

Very pleasant

Very impressive - layers of ripe citrus and white fruited flavours accented by doughy and biscuit notes, chalky minerality, light floral accents, with a leesy richness/roundness to the texture. It's a big wine with plenty of power but it also has plenty of acidity keeping it well balanced, with a very long finish.

Lovely deep caramel nose verging on mushroom. Fabulous taste, grand cru quality shining through. Complex, rich, still quite young but should age well. 100% pinot noir. [Edinburgh Fizz Festival; widely available, ~£40-55].

Drunk on Father's day with lobster. Yellow color with a bouquet and flavor that hints at balsamic vinegar, mixed with some citrus notes. Good effervescence considering its age. Good balance but fairly restrained with only a moderate finish. Very good wine if not in the stellar camp.

Restaurant Fred (Rotterdam, Netherlands) : Disgorged: Feb 2015. Aromas of citrus fruits, pear and a touch of walnut. Creamy and soft on the palate with gorgeous energy and ripe Chardonnay fruit.

Jacquesson and Selosse lieux-dits (D'Vine Düsseldorf) : more nuts in the nose than VT, more reluctant than VT, citrus notes in nose and yuzu in the finish, good acidity, a liitle bit blurred in the aftertaste, you feel the Botrytis of the vintage 2005 was the comment of Rytis Jurkenas, 92 (94)

Couleur très soutenue. Jaune/or brillant. Nez brioché, miellé avec des notes de figues séchées. Très expressif. Bouche pleine, bulle très fine. On retrouve les notes du nez avec un peu plus de retenue. Longueur moyenne. Petit regret, j'aurais aimé plus de fraîcheur.

Gold colour, fine bubbles. Wonderful nose of bread dough with a hint of caramel. Fuller body, tastes of apple and brioche, has quite a leesy character. Persistent bubbles add a great counter-point to the rich body. Outstanding Champagne; one of the best I have drank.

Ok for the price of £14 (on special at Co-op). Very Appletiser in flavour with plenty of acid. Needs food and does work work with salty, fatty. A little tiresome by itself. It might need a few more years to round off the edges and certainly has the structure for it. The wine looks Light gold colored. It smells like Apple. It tastes like Apple. The body is Light. The wine has Angular texture. The wine finishes Short.

Druer fra 3 parseller i Avize: Champ Cain, La Fosse og Nemery. Modne epler , hint av sitrus og flott autolysekarakter. Saftige grønne epler med bra syrebitt. Rik, men stram. Sitter lenge, og har noe mineraler i finishen. Gjemte unna et glass i et par timer, og fikk da i tillegg en slags lys karamell-is duft. Den duften var himmelsk. Topp vin!

Underbart fyllig champagne. Bra mognad med en stor doft av äpplen och honung. Kanske även lite rostat bröd. Fortfarande bra syror och en härlig mousse. Klarar nog några års lagring till.

Craig and Nita's Holiday Party (Champagne and Pinot Noir) : The nose offers subdued citrus fruits notes of mineral/oxidation. The taste gives a big dose of minerality with good acidity and nice length on the finish. This seems much more advanced than the bottle of 1996 Jacquesson Brut consumed later in the evening.

Somewhat of a disappointment considering the vintage/producer -maybe just a so so bottle -while it seemed mature and at a good point in it's evolution it just lacked that extra mid power notes -nice crisp finish with some good spice notes made it work well with appetizers.

Medium bodied, quite rich with hints of toasty nuttiness, but not cloying or overbearing. Not as much acidity as some, which for me is a good thing. Long finish. Held up well in the fridge for drinking the next day. A nice all purpose champagne, either by itself or with food.

Light straw color. Nose of dough, lemon and pepper. Taste of lemon, apple, pear, wet stone & minerals. Creamy, w superb delineation, good complexity which extends into the extended finish. Really wound up tight, as without lots of coaxing, there was not much beyond pepper, lemon and the great delineation in the finish. Fine, but with time, could be superb...Next day, complexity and fruit held up well. Toasty notes emerged, as the wine was more open generally. Still excellent.
