I like my white Burgundy with a touch of age, but there is a difference between age and complete oxidation, which was the case here. The tip-off was the light brown hue. The previous bottle was disappointing; this one will be returned to the vendor for what that is worth.

I was just a little disappointed with this wine, but maybe I expected too much. It is quite modest in weight, very lean, minerality diagnostic of the region evident but in a sort of whisper, restrained fruit to say the least. I could shut my eyes and conjour up Mersault, but it was just a mirage. There again, there are no price miracles in Burgundy anymore; so I am just fooling myself with unreal expectations.
