Glorious aromas on the nose. Subtle, powerful primary, secondary and tertiary components with a hint of reductiveness and something phenloic add further dimensions. Long finish. An elegant old skool wine for purists and Europhiles. A Medium bodied wine with lemon, lemon curd, green apple & blossom primary, cedar secondary and dried herb & nut tertiary flavours, Medium+ acid, Medium tannin and Medium (13%) alcohol. We rated this wine Outstanding.

***see previous notes First time I have consumed this wine over two nights! Second night was more acidic and looser. Learned something here. Drink the whole bottle night one. Aside from that, the wine is gorgeous. 93 points night one. 91-92 on the second night. This is proving.to be a very precise wine. Lots of lemon notes. Case worthy, and punches way above it's weight class. Will save my last 2018 for at least 12-18 months out. Time to get …

A disappointment. Taste just not right. Current prices clearly not worth it.

Nose has layers of elegant white fruits, some hints of barnyard, earthy spices and coconut shavings. Beautifully balanced. The palate is silky, elegant and extended. Medium-bodied structure with polished edges from entry to a soft but fresh finish. Still going strong and will continue to age for the next 3 years.

Just delicious. Pale lemon colour, hint of struck match, which faded into the citrus and smooth fruit guided by a line of fine acid. Flavoursome with energy.

Victory Lane Chardonnay lunch, tasted alongside 2018 LEAS and Mount Mary. Ripe lemon fruit with a hint of peach. Sweet vanilla, soft creamy texture set against lively acid. Very enjoyable.

*** See previous notes Such a well built wine. Lots of lemon zest and some match stick. Minerality is ever present. Medium finish. Laser focused wine. I'm always buying this wine. May even improve some from here. HAPPY EASTER!!! Got a duck in the oven for dinner. BIG RED COMING OUT.

Lovely, savoury chardonnay. Has that struck match, gunflint note. Yet still vibrant fruit on the citrus spectrum. Restrained power means a few more years ahead.

Drank this at Kai Garden with my wine mates. Theme of the dinner: Wines that start with T. A top notch Chardonnay from Tasmania. None of the butter or fats associated with new world Chardonnay; this one is sharp and focused, leaning towards the leaner side. Fresh minerals and acidity with a solid structure. Clean finish.

*** See previous notes Much more linear than last bottle. More lemon. More bracing acidity. Medium finish. It seems the bottle has regressed. In a strange place. Let's see what another year does for the next bottle. Salmon by Britt.

Tolpuddle 2018 Chardonnay. Bought this from Exel wines before it closed down. Can’t remember exactly how much it cost a year or so ago but I’m pretty sure it was nothing like it’s selling for now. Can’t believe the price of it now and not quite sure who they are marketing it to. At this price you are looking at a good white Burgundy which I would prefer quite frankly. Don’t get me wrong. It’s a very good wine. Quite …

Had not tried a bottle in almost a year. Stone fruit, graphite and a hint of grapefruit leading to a nice finish. A really nice chardonnay.

Tasted this at Wah Lok (Carlton Hotel) for a wine dinner with my wine mates. Theme of the evening: Wines from before 2000. Pale golden colour but a nose! Fresh acidity with lots of grapefruit on the palate. Beautiful citrus with a laser-sharp focus. None of the flabby or buttery notes. Ends with a dry finish. Beautiful wine.

Saturday hangout (Chicago, IL) : Have to admit I didn't really get this wine. It felt very generous with the oak, but without the underlying density to back it up. Feels thin, with some tart grapefruit on the palate; not sure it really had the breadth that I would expect in chardonnay.

Pale, almost colorless. Hint of shimmering gold Beautiful, aromatic nose. Slate, melon, subtle buttery notes, and lemon zest. Whiff of oak. Light, steely, perfectly balanced. Lemon notes, high minerality. Good bones with a long finish. Without doubt this will age well. One of the best chardonnays i have had. Absolutely delicious. Case worthy!

Cool maritime climate of Coal River Valley Chardonnay. Fine, with a backbone of firm acidity, and a combination of lightness of texture, and intensity of flavor. Nectarine, citrus, white peach, lemon curd and tinged with hints of grapefruit show intensity followed by infusions of gun flint, light biscuity oak and stony mineral notes. Rich and mouthfilling yet showing plenty of finesse, a fleshy feel sitting over a backdrop of biscuity oak, wet stone and grilled almond. Finishes dry, perfectly balanced …

We are hardcore burgundy drinkers but my good friend made us try this. What can I say. Totally blown away by this wine. Pure, toast, white melon, stone and soo refined on the palate. I need this in my life.
