A dark Big Cab with a even Bigger nose!! Good structure and complexity, but a bit of a disapointment on the texture and finish. For this price it should have it all.

Red fading to clear along the edges. Nice nose of cranberry, currant, baked berry, a bit of cedar. Tart cranberry, dried berry, herb palate with good structure still. While not particularly complex, this is an elegant and mature Cabernet like they don't make any more. Very good.

Magnum. a big, brash wine. tannins were pretty strong at the start, but mellowed throughout the evening. to the eye: Deep, dark purple in color. To the nose: black cherry, some vanilla, and balanced spice. when compared to the 95 Penfolds Grange shiraz we enjoyed before, it compared like a young brash talented athlete compares to a seasoned legend. lots structure and tannin, strong on oak and a bit low on fruit but it brings a solid finish and nice velvet feel in the mouth

I am absolutely shocked how thin and weak this is. This is generally a quality producer and this is one of my favorite vintages in Napa Cabernet.

Huge wine, big tannins, some heat. Probably still too young though I'm not sure it's going to age as gracefully as I hoped.

Smooth, fruit forward with good balance
