Intense ruby red color. On the nose, it expresses aromas of ripe red berries and dried violet, combined with balsamic hints and notes of dark spices. The palate is fresh and mineral, supported by smooth tannins and a flavor profile marked by fruity and lightly spiced notes.

Came home late from fly fishing so only saw 30 mins of air. Still lovely but has shown better w/ proper prep. Tasty w/ Nita's homemade pizza. The upside caught 8 gorgeous Brown Trout this afternoon (catch & release) in a couple hrs on the Rush River in nearby western Wi. So, if the wine suffered a bit, oh well:).

Pizza Night on the Parkway (Candie's, Mpls) : Small glass. Herbal, juicy and soft, anise, vanilla, full bodied, love the perfumy aromatics more than the palate.

My btl at pizza night. Nother terrific btl. Punches well above its weight to drink more like Brunello. Beautiful balance, fruit purity and lift. No hard edges. Paid $36 locally with case discount. Said to be aged in large Slovenian cask. Vines planted in the ‘70s on NE facing parcels in Montosoli.

Stunning! World class fruit, balance and nuance! Lowly designation but wine made by a world class producer. Terrific rose petal, spice & berry aromatics! I like that combo! Gave it a 3hr slow ox in Burg glasses. 13.5%alc

The best Rosso di Montalcino I've ever had! At first I thought maybe they had declassified their Brunello that year as this wine was that delicious, and way more complex than Rosso usually is. Wonderful nose of leather, prune, and Tuscan soil. Explosive palette of dark chocolate-wrapped berries, earth, and tobacco, with a nice astringent background that balances everything out and gives this wine great strength. If you find this, buy it!, it's an absolute steal!
