Château de Campuget Gard Syrah Viognier

* (on high end of one *) A Côte-Rôtie blend from the Gard! Who woulda thunk it? Light body, a bit disjointed for ca 45 min., but then comes together really nicely. Bright fruit with a certain nuttiness. On the acid side, but very compelling all the same, definitely an "I'll have another sip" flavor. Pairs well with a wide variety of foods. Don't know the price, but I believe it's a real bargain.

Highly enjoyable! The wine is light and lilting, with white flowers, clementine rind, orange zest, chalk, ripe white peach, and some slightly green apricot on the nose. The palate is smooth, medium bodied, balanced acid, with a complete finish. For the price, very good indeed.
