Consistent with his style, this was a more savory rendition of the wine than the 15. Loads more tapenade and earthiness, with red fruit playing a mlre supporting role. This had a fair amount of fine sediment, i would definitely like to try a bottle that's been stood up for a while

Bonito dinner at Highland. Drank in Schott Zwiesel Diva Burgundy. Appearance is cloudy, deep intensity, purplish ruby colour. Thin legs. Nose is not clean, with aromas of natural wild forest animal slight brett, purple berries, wild blackberries, purple plums, dark pepper, beetroot. Developed. On the palate, dry, lifted high acidity, medium- alcohol (12.5%), soft resolved medium tannins, medium+ bod. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of blackberries, purple plums, boysenberries, blqack pepper, dark green olives, beetroot, wild vegetals, forest floor earth …

Medium plus opacity purple-y color. Low-med alcohol, medium body, medium acid, medium dusty ripe tannins. Notes of tart/sour medicinal red cherry, brambly blackberry, fresh herbs, a bit stemmy, tending more high toned and green instead of the black pepper and savory animalistic qualities I often get from riper syrah. Compact entry with expansive mid palate and a black fruit driven medium + length finish. Will probably add some heft and therefore to me improve, in the next 5+ years

Tasted blind. Decanted. Clear, deep ruby with a purple core. Pronounced aromas of ripe red fruit, stewed black plum, violets, stemmy, medicinal herbs, earth. No new oak apparent. Developing. Dry, with med to med (+) acidity, med (+) tannins and med (+) to high alcohol. Med body, with med (+) flavor intensity and length. It finishes with a balsamic component. Very good quality. Better after a carafe and a bit of air to blow off some spritz. This was certainly very approachable, only very moderate alcohol, fruit forward and had a recognisable natural imprint. Enjoyed with some grilled meats, I would happily have again, but I would be tempted to drink others rather than cellar for too long.

Definitely get the Beaujolais comparisons of a lot of people. This pours moderately light and shows lots of fresh fruit up front, but finished with tons of depth and pepper notes indicative of the Syrah. An interesting take on St. Joseph, but if I try it again, will wait for one with more age.

Vin nature par définition, cette Syrah ne tient pas vraiment la route après quelques années de bouteilles. J'ai eu ce sentiment l'été passé lorsqu'on a bu une bouteille et, là, c'est plutôt une confirmation. Beaucoup de Brett, quelques épices mais surtout une trop forte saveur herbacée dès le milieu de bouche. C'est encore buvable mais sur le déclin, en tout cas pour mon palais. Dommage car j'avais bien aimé ce vin avec 1 année ou 2 de bouteille.

I'm still waiting to really understand these Souhaut wines. It's been several years and numerous bottles and I'm still looking for anything remarkable. There's no "there" there. This tastes like a middle of the road gamay that shows high-toned up front acidity and really pedestrian red fruit. So placid and simple. Bright juicy herbaceous nose like a like Beaujolais but body like a Rhône. Fresh body and clean finish staying light on the palate. Good for more years but open and well balanced now .

This was excellent. Slight mousey funk on the nose that lets you know its a low sulfer natty wine. The palate is juicy with dark plum and raspberry. There is bright acidity, but not too crunchy and no detectable VA to my palate (wife thought the same). It drinks a little like a beaujolais with its juicy fresh fruit, except here there is still some tannic firmness, and some black pepper syrah notes finish. Altogether, a very nice N.rhone that …

First bottle from Souhaut for me. Won't say I was sold, but I can see potential. The nose had a little bit of funk, but not much. Underlying were super floral notes of violet and lavender, tons of dark brambly fruit, a hint of blood. The palate was good, but seemed not quite fully come together; just didn't flow and felt slightly piecemeal; it was definitely better with food and I think it is probably just 3-4 years too early. …

New producer for me and unfortunately I will probably not buy more from them. The wine is a Syrah from Saint Joseph which is a good start. Unfortunately the barnyard notes are too apparent and the fruit is mainly tart. After a couple of hours it does improve and start showing a more diverse profile, but still not enough to convince me.

My first souhaut. Definitely has some of the savory notes you would expect from northern Rhone but also very bright and lifted and fresh, light bodied but still manages to have nice concentration . The (semi) carbonic crunchiness is definitely evident, stylistically a bit like a cru beaujolais. I'm sure it will age just fine but it doesn't need it, and I'm not really sure it will benefit.

Obviously young, but I enjoyed this. The impressions is of low bass notes- tones of grilled meat and olives (but not overt), not much fruit; a bit of a top note of pepper. Very much mid weight on the palate and extremely well balanced with acidity on the high-ish side (as I like it). If this weren't Northern Rhone, I'd say give it 3-5 years. That may be the right answer, but I'd err on the long side- if not …
