Pelee Island Winery Vinedressers Cab Sauv/Cab Franc

Dark ruby colour. Evolving, currant, sap, sweet nut, and toasted bread nose. Medium-full bodied palate with high acidity and good, distinct flavours; long, maturing, toasty finish. (tasted blind: my brain was jumping through hoops trying to figure this one out. First instinct was Bordeaux, but too much acid, then Tuscan but too much savoury oak and maturity, so I finally settled on Rioja Reserva. Ontario never crossed my mind) 4/5
