Previously tasted 13 months ago at the winery, this was my first from bottle. Red cherry, earth and that distinctive bloody iron note on the nose. Nearly medium bodied with very pretty red cherry upfront. Broadens and deepens through the middle, adding darker red cherry, earth and spices. Tasted at the winery. Bloody iron, red cherry and light earth notes on the nose. Close to medium bodied with very pretty red cherry notes upfront. Adds depth through the middle while retaining good fruit expression. Tannins, acidity and tart red fruit notes on the backside provide structure and support the mid-body fruit well. Overall, the wine already seems accessible through the middle and shows good integration between mid-body fruit and backside structure. I'll plan to open my first from …
