Light yellow in color. Initial overripe aromas settle down over time to reveal white peaches, pears, yellow citrus, flint and white florals. The palate is decidedly sweet showing off the lush and ripe yellow citrus laced summer orchard fruits, decent acidity and a long flinty and mineral finish.

Consistent with previous note, nose somewhat shy, although some citris fruit is cming through after a while. Moderate sweetness and moderate acidity in perfect balance, but the overall impression is of a rather soft wine. The finish is slightly bitter (maybe a little bit too much, and in contrast to the soft mid-palate), and I would not have guessed that this has only 7.5%.

Typical Riesling nose, only moderately sweet, good food wine, years ahead.

Deep straw. It gives pomelo peel, white pepper, smoke, and honey on the nose. The palate is intense but elegant, giving ripe fruit with intergrated oak. Its acidity and sweetness is precisely balanced. Finish is long and refreshing. An astonishing BA.

Über 4 Tage getrunken. Ab dem 3.ten Tag in Balance. Zeigt dann schöner Schmelz. Sehr gutes PLV. Kommt langsam in sein Trinkfenster.

A point or two better than the bottles 3 and 5 years ago. More open and complex, though still very fresh. This is just starting to enter its drinking window, where it is not “just” well balanced and clean. Quality spatlese from the best producers is still the best QPR in wine!

The bottle had cork, unfortunately. Despite the flawed bottle it is clear that this wine has still a lot of life ahead of it. No need to rush here.

Second time having this (last time was about 1½ years ago) and I've dumped this up 1 point as it's really developed nicely! You can feel the tension on the nose that is mainly focused on acidic citrus fruits, white peach, unripe pineapple, unripe mango and some green pear. The palate is a straight up acidity bomb! Lime juice, lemon juice, green pear, white peach, unripe nectarine and unripe pineapple - not much "sweetness" except that coming from the sweeter …

Super concentrated and while far richer and sweeter than I expected, this is still balanced. White grape juice, wildflower honey, lime zest. Very, very good but way more of a wine than I expected!

Gorgeous, golden colour of Riesling with hints of age. Interesting nose, very Riesling, very Mosel, but rich and honeyed, spices, hints of cassis, but clearly dry. Not saline but definitely flinty. On the palate loses a few points for some hints of sulphur, which takes the shape of melon and paybe some unripe pear, not uncommon in Rieslings like these but you'd want it to be slightly less pronounced. Dry, very full, you'd say this was Riesling but not filligree …

Light straw yellow. Little or no development here. Only tart and a bit astringent fruit. Would have expected something. Quite full bodied, with somewhat intrusive acidity. Sulfur in abundance?

A little smoky on the nose, slightly more austere and felt heavier than the Willi Schaefer. Well-made but a little mechanical.

Light in color. Pear, peach, quince, rose petal and citrus on the nose. Palate followed with pear, peach, quince, lime, lemon and a crystal clear minerality. Tiny bit of petroleum after some air. Very light sweetness with a great acidity to keep cleansing the palate. Definitely still in its youth.

Very concentrated still. I will keep my remaining bottle for at least another 3 years.

Frisk duft av gule epler, med en anelse hårvann i bakgrunnen. Flott friskhet munnen, og igjen deilig eplefrukt - såpass med syre at det nesten (men bare nesten) er eplekart. Ikke merkbart med sødme på smak, men dykkender likevelpå fylden at den er der. Deilig vin! Og godt potensiale, kan sikkert bli enda bedre når syra blir integrert. Fin match til kylling satay.

Markus Molitor, 2015 Ockfener Bockstein Riesling Kabinett (Grüne Kapsel) In der Nase wunderbare Fruchtaromen, gelbe und weiße Pfirsiche, frischer Apfel, Ananas, Mango, Rosen, frische Kräuter und Gewürze, insgesamt elegante Aromatik. Am Gaumen wunderschöne reife würzige Früchte, leicht salzige Mineralik, pikante Säure, hervorragende Balance, viel Komplexität, sehr klar und griffig, voller Spannung und Finesse. Langer köstlicher Abgang, raffiniert und verspielt. Ein hochfeiner präziser Saarriesling mit viel Potential, für mich heute 92+/100. Dazu schmeckte Kabeljau auf Rote-Beete-Sauce & Spargel.

Love this. Yes, it's sweet, but not cloying. Great acidity. Fruit notes are pear, lime, and lemon. Some butterscotch and vanilla, a little hint of petrol and flint. This can go for decades.

Pale straw. High intensity, yellow apple/pear, lemon, nectarine, white flowers, no noticeable petrol note. Off-dry, high acidity, low alcohol. Med+ complexity, long finish. Beautifully balanced, excellent wine.

It is difficult to score this wine. It is enjoyable to drink, but it clearly needs more time to become what it can be. Right now it easy on the palate, but you just get the feeling it is going to change a lot over time. I agreed with the other notes, pineapples and floral with pears and peaches. Look forward to trying again in 5-8 years.

Vinosphere (Town Hall, Sydney) : Medium minus intensity, almost tight if that makes sense, with slight sulphur, ginger, spice, slight orchard fruit,. Lovely, difficult to spit. Juicy, tangy, glorious.

Tasted at the winery. Prominent tea leaf and savory herb notes with some lemon peel and apricot aromas. Great structure with a strong acidic backbone to balance out the sweetness. Long, moderately complex finish that ends on a tart note.

Klares, helles grüngelb. An der Nase Pfirsich, gelbes Steinobst und mineralische Noten. Gaumen mit zarten Fruchtnoten, guten Schmelz. Trocken, fordernde Säurestruktur, guter, mineralisch geprägter Abgang. Leicht gewoben, trotzdem strukturiert, aber nicht kompliziert.

Ikke noe fullt notat nå, men denne har absolutt roa seg siden forrige flaske før et halvår siden. Frukt mer i retning eple enn sitrus, syra er mildere og sødmen mer merkbar. Fremdeles litt perlende i munnen. Deilig!

Enjoyable, but much too young. Decanted this, wrapped the top and then drank after three hours. At this point, it still needed some swirling in Zalto stemware to remove the last reductive notes. After airing, this was very well balanced, but simple. Pineapple, sugar and some floral notes are what spring to mind. The balance makes me hopeful for the future, but I will not open my next bottle before 2022, as the wine currently has hardly any complexity. Hard …
