This wine needs more or less half an hour in the glass to come fully to life. Cherries, smoke (this eventually vanishes), rhubarb, sage, rosemary, hints of flowers (which become more prominent as the smoke vanishes), pears(!), and, fleetingly, cola. Good aftertaste. Initially this wine lives only in the front part of the mouth, but fills out with time in the glass. This wine was crafted for early drinking, so it's amazing that it's so good 17 years after the …

Nice flavors if Blackberrys, cherrys and rhubarb...this wine had strong tannins when tasted previously and had actually turned into a better wine with age than I ever expected it to...!!

My bottle was actually quite fruity and tasty on the pop. Better than the last one I opened. Lost some of its freshness as it aired Over time. Drink Now

This wine is done. Some thyme and ash notes but fruit is gone and slowly moving toward vinegar end of things. Drink up or pour down the drain if you have any

Showed much better than another bottle opened last week. Cool red fruits, touch of dry earth, midweight feel. Should be drunk now, but good bottles are quite pleasant.

Over the hill. Dead, dusty nose without any discernable fruit. Palate was a bit more lively, but ultimately not a great showing--is beyond its window.

Wonderfully French - deep, dark and brooding, with lots of minerals. Yum.

Berries, coffee and herbs on the nose. Moderate mouthfeel. A bit of tannin. Flavors like the nose but not particularly harmonious at pop and pour. Perhaps some of the fruit that was originally there is beginning to recede. Got more enjoyable after it was open for an hour or so.

Full bodied with plenty of alcohol. Strong dark fruit for a Langedoc and moderate tannins. Well balanced, great for the price.

I was a fan of the (inaugural?) '06 vintage Chimeres, and this '07 doesn't hit too far off the mark. It has plentiful intensity along with the '07 heat we've all come to expect. Surprisingly for all that alcohol, this balances well on the palate in a flourish of tar and dusty flower serum, sour raspberry, and provincial herb. This is a great value and the kind of wine I think of when contemplating the value one can find in …

Drinking very nicely. Well integrated. Dark red fruit and barnyard on the nose. Spice and earth.

Solidly enjoyable wine. Nose and flavors of chocolate, olives, herbs, coffee, cherries and a touch of lavender. Rich mouthfeel. not overdone in the least. This is drinking incredibly well right now. I would certainly get and drink more.

Seemed too young - but also seemed to have a lot of potential. A couple of years may mellow the tannins and let the fruit come out; if so, this will be a winner.

Fairly expressive black fruits, green weeds and brussels sprout aromas and flavors. Nice purity, nuance and rather elegant with fine tannins in the background. After 2 hrs, gets a little fuller and fatter then flattens out. I know brussels sprout doesn't sound appetizing but this is good and drinks well but has the balance to last for a couple of years.

I feel schizo, I like it, I don't - and tonight I give it 91. The bottle age has put together a complete and sumptuous wine. Definitely in a good place and has really pulled together well.

Just a hint of cork. Still enjoyable, this is close to peaking. Underlying aspects are smooth and sweet with the tannin flowing over top - quite a unique sensation. As always I get coniferous notes on the nose. Enjoyed this more than the last time.

Took this to a tasting group event that was identified as Priorats. This one bested them all pretty much unanimously. Perhaps it was a bit of an apples and oranges comparison. Great fruit, very clean and well integrated and perfectly balanced. It's competition seemed overly ripe, overly alcoholic and, in one case, overly oaky.

No notes until day 3, but still holding up... Cherry, rhubard, floral nose. Tastes of cherry, wild raspberry, garrique and red meat. Herbal in a good way; more Syrah than Grenache.

Don't see this improving much more. The bottle lasted 3 days which speaks volumes. Ok, displays a little uniqueness but overall this could of been a pass

Major funk that blew off after about an hour in the decanter. Quite earthy, with some dark fruit. Needed food pairing. Not for my palate apparently.

Deep, dark fruits with mineral and savory notes. Bright and a little hot, it has good balance, opens well across the mid palate and then has a nice finish that doesn't last quite long enough. Benefits from air and probably still has a bit of upside.
