Dark yellow, almost orange in the glass. High acidity is well covered, tertiary flavors start to come through. No distinct oak, but barrel aging leaves its traces. Really good, despite the slight petrol notes I don't particularly like.

I love the floral perfume to it.

Brilliant light gold in the glass with a thin watery rim. Nose of lemon, fresh-cut rubber, and peach. Medium-light body, medium-high acidity, surprisingly round mouthfeel, and flavors of lemon balm, unripe pear, and lanolin. Good, but not what I expected. The acidity is not as electric as most Austrian rieslings I have had in the past. The mouthfeel is almost viognier-like. Drink now through 2028.

Very perfumed on the nose, but not that much on the palate.

Giant Wine Sale & Tasting 5/6/2017 (Cellar on Greene, Columbia, SC) : Always interested in trying wines from Austria, this one is quite exceptional. There is a vibrant liveliness any wine would covet. The nose is expressive spicy minerals, wet earth and mulled apples. The color is deep golden. Has very large viscosity, but also a delicate elegance. Not necessarily fruity, the aromas and flavors are "Old World" terroir driven minerals and spices. Extremely clean, crisp and linear. Really well …
