From vines about 50 years old, approximately 4000 bottles produced each year. Austere, with aromas of blackberries, ripe cherries, hints of graphite, forest floor, and a light violet note. In the mouth, it's warm and balanced, with an elegant texture and slightly savory. The finish is not too long.

Deep nose of black cherry, black raspberry, sous-bois, and asian spice. Very Nuits like. Medium intensity. On taste excellent depth of fruit - black sour cherry and sous-bois. Very long finish with a nice balance on the acidity. Very enjoyable and fine. You can see the quality fruit. Great value for a village wine.

Faint but pleasant nose of dark cherries with a vibrant ripe cherry taste that has a surprisingly long although somewhat indistinct finish that’s a bit hot ala Sonoma pinots. Great value - I would take this any day over most comparably priced OR and CA pinots.

40th anniversary tasting (L'Esprit du Vin - Axelborg) : My notes from this fantastic gigantic tasting are in general extremely short (because of the many wines) but with ratings. We spent a whole day tasting and tasting quality wines. This wine: Morey reminds me of Domaine Leflaive. No wonder, Morey is former winemaker from Leflaive. Lots of cherry flavours

Initial scents of iron and blood, dark sour cherry and some wild thistle-like smell. The initial taste was, frankly , a huge and good surprise : grilled meat, pepper, dark berries - and the smells that had been dancing around the idea of peony finally came together on the tongue so it was almost like tasting peonies , if that makes any sense - as part of an explosive finish - one of the most challenging and expansive finishes I’ve …
