Med ruby, turning brown on rid and lighter rim Pronounced nose of blackberry, cassis, cigar box, pencil shavings and graphite. Old dusty leather Med+ acidity, med+ body Flavours of rich ripe red and black fruit, blackberry, cooked plum, some secondary flavours from oak. Vanilla. Ok balance, good length, good intensity, great complexity from age. Drinking well now and needed 1-2 hours to open up and then nose was amazing. Better aroma than palette overall, but really enjoyable

I recently had the 2000 vintage of this wine. It was a little disappointing, a bit flat. This vintage has held up better. Good colour, just a tinge of brown on the edges. Soft berry flavours with cassis and eucalyptus. Graphite on the nose. Will likely last a few more years but probably will not improve, so drink up.

This was very nice and surprisingly youthful, although this was stored at the winery for the last 20 years. Decanted and planned to drink within a half hour, but it was very, very thin and lacking any finish whatsoever at that point. Much better at an hour and singing at two hours. No bricking, ruby at the edges showing some age. Lots of cassis, and some stone and graphite on the palate. Great bouquet of similar notes. Very enjoyable wine …

(Imported by Somm Select). This is still lovely. Also very important that this wine came from perfect storage. __________ Color: Solid dark ruby (impressive for a Medoc Cru Bourgeois!) Nose: Very Bordeaux. Deep dark pool of black cassis and black currant. With undertones of graphite and dark damp earth. Beautiful nose. Palate: Medium body. Lush dark fruit, classic black currant, black cassis fruit, and crushed mineral. Very soft tannins. Watery on the tail end (preventing a higher score). Still, a …
