G & C Lurton Merlot

Dark plum, heat, alcohol, menthol and alcohol on the nose. Very one dimensional and lacking. Thin mouthfeel and body, medium light tannins, alcohol, stewed dark fruit. Not much else. Kind of lackluster

2020 SF Chronicle Wine Competition, excited to taste a Merlot from the famed Lurton Family of Bordeaux now making wine in Sonoma County, nose of saddle leather, black cherry, and roasted meat, on the palate, medium body, mouth filling fruit, savory, almost at peak drinking, long finish.
