Finely textured with bright fruits and subtle spice, balanced by fresh acidity and silky tannins.

The nose gives you that earthy old world style Pinot baby! There’s ripe red fruits, clay pot, marzipan, and pan seared mushrooms. Light and elegant on its feet, juicy red berries, balanced acidity with such fine grain almost-chalky-but-still-with-a-little-grit tannins which add some very well placed texture. Soft as a porcelain tea cup, can’t stress enough how silky this is. Juicy but refined, a Pinot with clear intentions. Moorish and delightful.

Moncur Cellars Pinot Noir (Bistro Moncur, Sydney) : Medium minus intensity aromas of pretty red berry fruit with a meaty underpin, touch of sweet spice, dialled back whole bunch. That whole bunch is more obviously on the palate lending an ashy quality and joining with the tannins to create a dried out mid palate. Bah.
