Emilian Gillet, Vire-Clesse, Quintaine

A vibrant and punchy nose of brown spices and ripe peach. It has good flesh and presence, with a sappy, orchard fruit feel and fresh minerality punctuating the long finish.

Thevenet typischer Stil: Körperreich, vollmundig, fruchtintensiv und ganz ohne Holz. Für mich eher untypisch als Chardonnay aus dem Burgund aber in sich ganz stimmig. Durchaus leichter und zarter als der Bongran 2015 aber in diese Richtung deutend. Fast muten die Weine ein wenig deutsch an, denn die deutschen Chardonnays sind fast immer mit mehr Frucht und Saftigkeit ausgestattet als jene aus dem Burgund. This is a heavy glass of white burgundy. The color is straw yellow with a greenish twist. The nose is quite nice but the taste is a little too over the top for my liking.
