What you would expect from a $12 Chianti and not more. A pleasant drinker suitable for the In-Laws.

Very nice nose, good fruit but not over the top. very palatable. Drank with chicken parmaghana (tomato-basil sauce). The sauce and this wine paired excellently. A very good basic Chianti.

straight after the Brolio - touch sweeter fruit, mor epowdery tannins at front of palate (rather than back), much mor evolatile - which dominates - not bad for money but would prefer the Briolio and better to have this after something else

Clear red in the glass. The nose had a very sharp edge of green apple and sour cherry. The palate was so sour I couldn't really get anything specific. Tried to like it, decanted, let it sit, you name it...I could not drink this wine.

Mostly outsourced fruit in this bottle. Some cabernet and merlot in the blend. Very light mid palate, it is soft, but soft because nothing is really there. A touch of grip a touch of acidity but man, very little else. Maybe it would work at $7?

Dark red, dark cherries, black fruit, chocolate, smooth tannings, dirty sucks, leather, improve with airtime, medium finish, not bad at this price point.

Decant for one hour, at least. Any sooner, the wine will bite you. Nice, smooth well rounded chianti. Berries and light tannins. Young, but drinkable.

Grapes outsourced. Easy going, warm, cherries and spice, marred by yeasty aromas. Tasted at Castello di Brolio
