M2 Vintners Tempranillo Tormenta Kirschenman Vineyard

Delightful- good with tri tip and rice pilaf

Agree with another reviewer - it's not just like a Spanish Tempranillo. It's dark red in the glass with subtle, pleasant nose of earth and red fruit. Red fruit and a bit of acid on the palate. Not a long finish and a bit oaky for me. Overall I enjoyed it with veggie pizza but liked the 2010 Rioja Crianza from last night a bit better (and the Crianza was a few bucks cheaper).

More California than Spain in style. To borrow a word from the label, this wine is intense. I was a little disappointed at first. Upon opening its the proverbial bull, but let it rest a bit and the payoff is there. Lots of red fruit, nice acidity and finally some smoke.

Not a very good interpretation of Tempranillo. Nothing memorable besides no structure. The fruit, earth, and spice that were there were all over the place. M2 makes a fine zin but this is a poor effort.
