Pineapple, melon, and elderflower on the nose and the palate. Sugar is balanced by good acidity and minerality. Was fantastic with green curry duck that had a a little heat.

This really hasn't budged much in the last five years under screwcap. Light gold color. Some dissolved C02 obscures the aromas at first and gives the palate a spritzy feel. But a vigorous shake in the bottle (or a splash decant) releases the gas and clears everything up. Yellow apple and peach on the nose - nicely typical for the Nahe, but not especially complex. Peach and wet gravel on the nose, with slight petrol. On the palate this is sweet, with mangos, citrus, and peach followed by some minerality. This has a good level of acid to balance the sweetness of the wine. At 13 years old, this wine is still vibrant. I suspect it has many years left.

Thanks Mike for sharing. This has an alluring mineral-laden nose, unctuous mouthfeel and lively flavors of peach, chalk and limestone. Sweet but balanced by lively acids with a long, dry stoney finish. Really lovely.

Dr Wine nailed this one below: full of round peach fruit with a fresh zing of limey acidity holding things in place. Just beginning to show some depth from age, but the big fruit is still prominent. Drinking well right now.

Pot-luck Thanksgiving. Sigh. WOTD. The competition? Castle Rock Pinot Noir, Coke, Margaritas and New Belgium beer. So, I'll take the win. Entering into the next chapters of its life, with a yellow gold color and subtle, but very attractive stone fruit and lychee aromas. Medium-bodied, gently layered with lively acids and good freshness. A joy to drink. recommended , thru 2018, 9,5% abv

Light color. Dripping with peach and lime. A hint of sugar, some cherry on the palate and then a torrential mineral finish. Delicious!

This was quite delicious with yellow fruits, citric acidity and the saline minerality that I love these wines. You still get a one level upgrade in weight and fruit but I think the acidity and minerality may be making some progress here as time goes by.

Golden yellow color. Aromas of pear with a stoney minerality. Tastes of pear and melon with some notes of petrol. Very well balanced with nice freshness and acidity. Medium bodied. Rich mouthfeel on the elegant finish.

Really delicious riesling for the price. Lemon and peach with appropriate sweetness and weight. Minerality in the background on the midpalate but not as pronounced as I would have liked. Spritz tickles the tip of your tongue.

Deutschland (Wine Exchange - Orange, CA) : Expressive and unique on the nose with aromas of citrus, minerals, and biscuit. There is superb density, sweetness, and acidity on the palate along with great persistence. The flavors tend towards yellow fruits and complicating mineral essence. This is a really fine wine from a single vineyard at an attractive price point.

Nose: Heavy lemon action, pastry crust, nutmeg, slate. Rich nose smells almost like lemon tart, but definitely like a dessert wine. Palate: Loads of lemon along with salty minerality on the attack. On the mid-palate, slate, good spritz and excellent acidity, and it is needed otherwise this would be a little overbearing. As it is, this is a tasty riesling with the weight of spatlese (as noted by jlm) but with some of the sharpness and saltiness of kabinett.

Lovely, typical young Riesling aromas; apple, citrus, minerals, flowers, and perhaps some spices. Quite concentrated and intense. Very well balanced, lovely, intense tickling acids, a hint of sweetness to balance the acids, medium full, just right. Quite long finish with apple and some tropical fruit and obvious minerals. Very god wine, especially price taken into consideration.

Very aromatic, with fruit mixing with wet rock on the nose. Rich mouthfeel, with a lovely balance of sweetness, peach, lemon, aciidity, and a hint of minerals on the finish. Excellent.

I bought this to drink this summer but now I'm thinking that I'd better wait. There's a great bouquet here with spicy yellow fruit, ripe lemon and hints of rocky minerality. The wine has great weight, extract and acidity but as noted by previous posters it's a bit fat and lacks the definition suggested by the bouquet. Some minerals reappear on the long finish. Excellent

The nose here is voluptuously fruity with yellow fruits predominating. I don't detect much of the mineral character that tends to mark this bottling though. The palate is decidedly Spätlese in weight and the baby fat is covering up the structure. But with time in the glass the fruit yields to show a zesty, citrusy acidity coating the sides of the palate, and acidity that holds the fruit in check but remains in the background when first poured. The palate has great sweetness and acidity with flavors of heady stone fruit and minerals. Great balance and stuffing for this designation. This wine is sourced from a single vineyard.

More 2007 Spatlesen (Vin Vino, Palo Alto) : Fragrant with citric tones. Light and bright at first with zingy acidity and strong scent of orange rind. Moderate sweetness, picks up weight, honeyed botrytis notes, and evergreen at the end.
