Impromptu tasting of C.H. Berres' Urziger Wurzgarten Rieslings (Beautiful Wines, The Plaza) : Monolithic. The nose showed some mushrooms, honey and spice - very nice, but still real tight. I thought the palate had everything in the right place: fresh acid, lovely minerality, great depth of fruit, tremendous length and tons of substance and extract. Tasting of C. H. Berres Ürziger Würzgarten (Beautiful Wines) : Kinda disappointing for a BA. Color was very light and sweetness at the level of the average Auslese. Good mouth presence but I don't get any botrytis character. A little spice and quite pure with more acidity than extract. A BA made in a very lean and slightly seductive style.
