St. Clement Merlot Napa Valley

A good bottle of wine. I wish I opened it a year or two earlier. The fruit has fallen a little flat.

Burnt orange colour. Surprisingly floral aromatics with caramel, coffee, and old world earthiness. The palate is nice and velvety with dried cherries, mocha, and damp earth. Finishes with dusty tannins. Liked better than the '02 SLW Merlot I had before this.

Here's a rustic one. smoke and leather on the nose, and the palate. Extremely unique. This is interesting. high 80's.
