Tyler Pinot Noir Zotovich Family Vineyard

Drank from magnum. Red-fruited and totally primary. Could easily go 5 more years.

Excellent pinot really hitting its stride. Light and almost delicate nose with cherry, strawberry with of black tea. Velvet mouthfeel with nice sappy intensity, complex palate, dark cherry with hints of raspberry, hints of black tea tannins. Long finish, with great balance and no rough edges. Impressive, and elegant.

Pnp: light ruby, tart strawberry, typical pinot, bramble, fresh, lasting finish

DnP: ruby, bright red fruits strawberry-dominant during pour, medium bodied, citrus tartness, mild spice finish; very enjoyable

This is a graceful and complex wine that is drinking wonderfully right now. Strawberry red in color, medium in body, nose of dried cranberry, spices, and rhubarb. Layered tastes of dried strawberry, sour cherry, gravel, and herbs, with a wispy yet lingering finish. 13.1% alcohol. I tasted this next to a 2013 Tyler Sanford & Benedict, in order to see what differences might exist. The Sanford had more depth and roundness, while the Bien Nacido was more light and aromatic. …

PNP to a nice ruby color. Surprised to find this more of an Oregon profile with loamy earth, menthol, pomegranate, and tart cherry. Much more Burgundian in nature than I was expecting from a Santa Maria Pinot. Medium on the palate with soft red fruit, good acidity, and nice aftertaste. This really needs 3+ years to flesh out.
