Cellared from the start. However, this wine was really over the hill. Has not aged gracefully at all, rotten fruit dominated, which I’ve found common in lesser pinots

One of the better 2011 Willamette Valley Pinot Noirs I have tried so far. Good After an hour decant, and should improve in the bottle for 2 to 4 years.

Not much on the nose. Acidic with bright cherry notes and a very thin mouthfeel. Finish was short. Still enjoyable, but not nearly as complex and intricate as I would hope from Atticus.

I know 2011 was a wet cold year in Oregon and that a lot of the wines were stretched to find ripeness, but this wine is a little (lot) tight and the acids overwhelm. Tasted last year with much better impact, there is a hint of fruit on the nose and palate but just a hint, and at this point in its development the acids are just too forward. I will be interesting to see if another year or so …

Nice, fresh Oregon pinot, nicely weighted, strawberry and red cherry fruit, maybe a little stemmy, bitterness on the finish, but very tasty and a pleasurable bottle of wine for dinner.

My comments line up perfectly with two from last June: upfromthecellar and STBRAUNT: "just a nicely balanced wine...maybe a new style of Pinot, but maybe also a more Burgundian style that we're used to in les États-Unis.

This is showing a little better than the last bottle. It is medium weighted showing a style somewhere between new world and old. Brambly bright red fruit, minerality and earthy aromas. Cherry and raspberry on the palette. Juicy and with good acid. The finish fairly persistent with a bitter end. 7-17-7-8

Great stuff! Its an almost strange combination of Jura or Savoir intensity, Santa Barbara fruit, a streak of acid and minerality that leaves you bleeding and Voila! New Age O-noir. Whew. Its quite a ride and definitely for the younger set I suspect. Cult wine in the making. 90+

Enjoyed this bottle over two days. A very nice pinot that was a bit more reserved than many American offerings, yet it had a little more fruit than what one would expect from Burgundy. Tasted at the vineyard with the winemaker. This is a blend of Dijon clones with some Pommard, all from Atticus vineyard despite the WV label. Still quite young and vibrant with prominent red fruits. I am going to consume in the near term but this should have 3-5 years without issue.

Bought a few as hyped by Rimmerman as a Burgundian Pinot style from Oregon. Was very disappointed upon opening and sampling out of the bottle; oaky, disjointed, too much heft and alhohol.
