Winery pour. Black cherry, sandalwood and spice with a surprising amount of structure. Complex, medium-bodied; a perfect food wine and easily the best domestic Dolcetto I've ever had. A steal at $30.

Zoom Tasting with Sam Bilbro, Winemaker/Proprietor Idlewild Wines : Bright red in the glass, with a nose of red fruits - sour cherry and slight raspberry maybe. Very tart red fruit on the palate, with strong, but mostly integrated, tannins. Almost a spritz mouthfeel, reminded me of the house wine of the north Italy pizza places we went to years ago. Tasted with Sam the winemaker over zoom.
