Nice fruit, soft edges, very open, ready to go. At peak I’d say.

Still quite youthful, good but unremarkable.

Clear medium garnet color. Prunes, blueberries, on the nose with red berry notes. Great.

Aromatic, savoury nose of black olive, currant, polished leather, mushroom, and toast. Medium-full-bodied with good flavour replays and structured, integrated tannins; long, evolving, textured finish. 4/5

Appearance - clear, opaque, ruby Nose - clean, youthful, alcohol eye burn, black berry fruits. Notes are very primary. Medium plus intensity.. Palate - very easy to drink. Youthful. Balanced but young. Cellar this wine. Medium plus body. Alcohol lists as 14%. Feels balanced and integrated. Medium plus body. Tannins are velvet and medium plus. On finish. Your gums get kind of itchy. Notes are fresh ripe black fruit. Berries. Wine is fine to drink now but wait on a …

I am a fan of this rather unknown chateau and once I see a bottle at a reasonable price I will buy it. It came as a surprise to me that the 2019 is already open for drinking. It is full bodied and rather hedonistic. Of course, some cellar time would make it even better.

I don't review many wines, but I've had a couple bottles of this wine lately (I bought a case en primeur), while this wine does not have the fruit it once did, it is still a GREAT drinking wine! Smooth, rich, lovely, NO bite whatsoever. It drinks like a classic. If you have some, do yourself a favor and make an excuse to drink it. It's obviously not going to last forever. I popped the cork, double decanted and served …

Fruit considerably faded. Held too long.

Held in cellar since release and finally popped first bottle after seeing favorable write ups here - ready to go now in my opinion. Not a blockbuster but a very nice claret in a traditional style. Good deal at <$20 at release.

Sweet fruit leather in aroma and smoky oak. This beauty seemed to be on the downhill portion of its peak. Delicate finish, no harsh tannins on the finish. Flavors of musty basement/minerals , savory, thick earthy flavors, and mellowed out dried fruit. Cork totally intact and easily removed with a corkscrew. We opened two wines from 2000 for my daughters 21st birthday and this one was her favorite!

Wow, best bottle yet! I think the secret is only 30 minutes of air... it began to fade a bit after an hour. At its peak, it was a fully mature Cab with plenty of flavor and no tannin, a real pleasure.

Dark and brooding - with aromas of black cherries, cedar, saddle leather and earth. Complex, leathery black cherry fruit with notes of dark chocolate and earth. Nice finish with enough tannins to provide structure. Still going strong, but recommend drinking within the year.

Very dark ruby color with very little sign of age. Slight graphite and cedar aromas. Earthy tart cherry and cranberry flavors. Still tanin on the finish. Glad it's my last one.

Yes, well past its prime, but still flavorful and enjoyable. I bought a case on release because it tasted good, was reasonably priced, and came from a touted vintage. It was always just OK and we stopped drinking it in favor of other stuff we liked better. As a consequence, I still have six left. Now it's an everyday drinker, good flavor and smooth, will be great with pizza. We plan to drink it up. 1/26/2020 Another bottle, 89 at …

The bottle was tired. Like mile 22 of a trail marathon tired. Still an OK drink but past its prime. Just pulled this out of long-term storage and had the nostalgic recollection of the Joe Bag of Donuts who rung me up some 15 years ago when I bought this bottle - he said it was 'good vittles' - love that.

Was hoping for cedar and earth, but alas, nothing. No taste at all, really. Colour was good, nose was still good, absolutely nothing on the tongue.

Bad cork but saved the wine. Very dark ruby color with very little sign of age. Slight graphite and cedar aromas. Cherry and cranapple flavors with rich but mineraly finish. May be improving.

Still dark dense color, nose still flashy. Palate all in the savory spectrum. Still medium tannin. Alcohol more than flavor extends the finish. Bottom line: it lasted 17 yrs, drink up!

Last bottle of the evening. Fairly dark red with a brown hue. Aromas of wet forest, liquorice, mature red fruit and coffee. Pretty good, but fairly light. Palate of coffee, a touch of oak and mature red fruits. Tannins light-medium. A reasonably good, fair-to-middling, great QPR tipple to end the evening.

I always champion the vintage 2000, I very much enjoyed the intensity of the ripe dark currant fruits, juicy meaty palate and the nose is always deep and powerful! This applies to the case of this bottle of Chateau Pipeau, still so dark in colour, fantastic fruits intensity both on the nose and palate, some powdery tannins, definitely charming and not surprised it should be long-lived, although lacking complexity and showing a little rustiness but still wonderful to drink!

Second Sunday Group: 2000 Bordeaux (R&D's) : Like the others, a deep crimson/garnet color that belies its true age. Black currant, licorice and plum notes to start. On the palate, this reveals nice fruit and tannin; balanced. Develops a dirty black soil note as it sits, a quality I found distracting. My #5, Domino's #4 Group #5, 58 pts

In a really nice spot now and much improved over my last bottle a few years ago. Garnet with a slightly orange rim, showing plenty of plummy dark red fruit and a tannic rasp suggesting at least five more years of life.

Surprisingly dark red color. Moderate bricking around the rim. Somewhat mellow and smooth palate. Nose of mild wet dirt and barnyard. Pleasant classic old world red.
