Delheim Cabernet Sauvignon - Shiraz

I didn't want to like this wine, but it had a nice dark, smoky flavor that was actually quite appealing. Not especially complex, and actually better as a pop-and-pour than after it had some air, but I'd drink it again if it was offered to me.

Was this the same wine I had a month ago? Because I didn't care for it at all this time. Kind of thin with an odd almost "green" musky aroma and taste. I'd say it was corked but it had a screw top. Last time I drank with a meal and this time without food. Disappointing.

South African wines have never impressed me but this Shiraz had a lot going for it. There was a nice complexity with a little something for each part of the palete. Nice bright fruit with a hint of pepper and maybe nutmeg or something earthy. Kind of reminded me of a Super Tuscan.
