Didn't take notes but we found this very enjoyable. Very similar to the 96 Pahlmeyer but maybe a touch more structured.

Past its prime but not over the hill. Still had hints of fruit. Tannins had soften nicely.

A little disappointing. Not as much fruit or cherry as I remember - bottle variation? Somewhat promising nose to start, but a bit austere. Little nose after first few minutes. Have more, will try some in next year.

Definitely not past its prime. Had definite strong tart cherry right out of the bottle, after decanting opened up. Wish I had a few more to see how this plays out over a few more years past its "prime".

Time in bottle well spent for this wine. Right out of bottle, unusual, somewhat musty nose. That went away soon. After 20 minutes, next hour or so was very good - classic sour cherry from a 10 year old Cal Cab. Then the cherry receded, pucker factor went down, just smooth drinking after that. Can drink these now, will probably be interesting for at least a few years more.

had with pork tenderloin. Give this one a couple more years in the bottle - may never be particularly fruity, but there is a bit of an edge that may be a little better in a couple of years
