H3. Full bogart move on this wine during Paulee. Delicious but finish might suffer from evolving 2005-lock-down. Probably needs time. Paulee at Barney and Beth’s.

Dark fruit on the nose, with animalistic notes, tobacco, licorice and earthy flavors. Palate is medium to full bodied, dark and red fruit, truffles, tobacco and lengthy finish.

It has been almost 4 years since my last bottle and it has improved a lot - it still has dark fruit but red fruits are also beginning to show and tannins though noticeable have softened. Still a powerful wine with mostly primary dark notes but also with some tertiary earthy notes emerging. Fine balance and it is long - I really like where it is heading and in my view it is now getting into the drinking zone.

See previous note: stunning. Unfortunately this was toast on day 2 open, so drink up.

Pop and pour. So much evolution, but this is Grand Cru burg at the peak of its powers. At first, cola, red fruit, savory herbs, almost a black truffle note. On the palate: lovely acidity and density, savory herbs, cola, dried strawberry anf black fruit. Earth, game. Wow. Attenuated tannin on the finish. Absolutely stunning right now.

Elegant nose, hint of raspberry on palate. Refined. Agree w other tasters that this is as far as this one will go - enjoy now.

Drinking incredibly well right now. Likely fully matured and should be consumed sooner than later. Went great with the salmon dish!

Here's an '05 that is expressive and in the zone. The nose has some menthol, black cherry, blueberry and spice. It is fleshy in the mouth, with a creamy feel. Flavours build through the palate and fan out on the finish. It is deep and very long.

Tasted over 2 hrs; bottle from secondary market -med dark red minimal bricking -generous rich ripe yet fresh creamy black cherry -med acidity, med weight softly powerful intensity, subtle dark cherry with a bit of earth is somewhat one dimensional, silky med- tannins -sublimely balanced and power without weight, this is quintessential 2005, palate lacks a bit of complexity for a Grand Cru, drinking well now with another good decade ahead of it

Another lovely btl. A bit darker and denser than before with more plum and blackberry on the nose, but then the nice cinnamon and cool herbs. On the palate, denser than I remember, but fantastic acidity followed by nice spicy notes, then blackberry and a touch of coffee and cinnamon. Soft tannin on the finish. This seems like it is at the end of its primary phase. Yum!

拉肚。气味,明显有老酒的柔软,很不一样。口,也细致柔软,水果还足。半小时后,有点稀淡。

This is dark fruited and quite primary but still accessible. Long with coffee, licorice and meaty notes - almost like a Northern Rhone wine. I think it will improve and mellow out with more time.

Very good after 1+ hr of decanting. Some fruit but a lot of tertiary complexity. Well structured.

Decanted, let sit in wide-bottom decanter for 2 hrs before serving. Restored my faith in gc burgundy, and the first burg I have had in a while that really made me stop and take notice. Stunning nose with pure strawberry, a hint of coffee and toast, and more fruit following. On the palate, great body and acidity with loads of red fruit and a hint of leather and earth. Drinking beautifully now with a decant, but the secondary is starting …

Definitely decant, needed some time to open up and really enjoyed it. No confusion on the origin of this wine, a nice mix of old school but approachable now. Great rich dark fruit, some power and a nice long finish. Glad I have 5 more but will wait on the next bottle.
