Unmistakably Napa, yet relatively constrained. Still very youthful with little sign of bricking which surprised me given that it’s nearly 20 years old. A little sweet but not jammy, quite dense yet lacking in secondary flavours for me. Perhaps it’s a matter of preference as I drink mostly old world wine these days.

Finishing up the remnants of Friday’s bottle. Black fruit, tobacco and floral notes with just a touch of oxidation setting in. The palate shows ripe red fruit and iron flavors- better on the palate than the bouquet suggests it will be.

Well worth the wait — decanted for 30 minutes and then drunk over 3 hours. First bottle and it’s beautiful. Deep garnet. Roses and blackberries tumbled from the glass and sweet spices foreshadowed what the wine had to offer. First the blueberries, followed by blackberry crumble, cinnamon, nutmeg and cinnamon. This is lush and elegant with a beautiful texture, while maintaining a certain weightlessness. A long finish capped the experience. This was more St. Julien than Napa.

Dark Garnet throwing just a bit of sediment at the end of the bottle. Delicate bouquet of dark fruits - a bit linear but also some mild tobacco and cedar. Silky smooth tannins that linger for a minute. Popped and poured at dinner - might have benefited from a decant as it really got better in the glass. Showing well right now and very Bordeaux with finesse and elegance.

Medium weight, maybe a little sweetness in the red cherry, but quite nicely balanced. Hard to imagine confusing it for a BDX, because of the brightness of the fruit, but made with continental sensibility and poise.

Beautiful cuvée from Kapscandy. 72% CS, 19% Merlot, and 9% Petit Verdot. Cherry, blackberry and a touch of oak. Elegant with a medium to long finish. Tasty great now but could go for another decade.

Aromatic and interesting with lots of dark fruit, oak notes and spice Palate is rich and complex with the oak showing prominent flavors but the fruit compliments it well Medium long finish. The bottle disappears fast so it must be good. Would buy again

Very nice wine everyone expressed delight. Double decanted in morning it was ready for dinner. Nevertheless, for Bordeaux Blend my personal go to would be Bordeaux, where they’ve got it down after centuries of making claret.

Color - definitely showing it's Bordeaux style compared to the Napa cab we were drinking the same night - more garnet than ruby Burnt notes a little funk, over-ripened plum on the nose Grippy tannic, and tight the first 2 hours, but fruit emerging after a lengthy decant. I’d almost compare it to a super-intense pinot…strawberry backed with acidic structure and restrained alcohol.

Explosive fruit on the nose; almost didn't want to taste it. Dark fruit, menthol...wow. On the palate, still plenty of tannins so it could obviously hold for years to come. But it's fairly approachable now, with cedar, oak, and deep fruit...complex, yet approachable. If you can wait...do so.

From a pristine bottle; popped and poured. Purple core with no signs of age. Notes of black cherry, cassis, mocha; with airing, hints of black truffle emerge. Medium to full bodied, lush and concentrated, but with good grip and delineation on the long finish. A bit more “new world” in style than what I’ve come to expect from Kapcsandy, but a wonderful wine for what it is.
