Medium purple color. Ripe black and blue fruit, toasted oak, dark chocolate on the nose. Similar flavors on the palate with a hint of cedar cigar box mixed in. Medium acid and tannin with a touch of heat coming through on the finish. Saved some to revisit on night 2 but I would drink up if holding any.

Past its peak, but still respectable. We enjoyed this wine a couple of years and found it to spectacular. Today's bottle had muted flavors and little tannin. It is still drinkable, but a shadow of its former self.

It's lost its luster. Slightly oxidized and fatty.

Popped and slow ox'd for about 3 hours. Big, ripe blackberry and cassis aromas on the nose along with some peppery spice and chocolate notes with some heat peaking through as well. Similar flavors on the palate with a good amount of charred oak notes coming through with a spicy finish. The wine is mostly balanced in terms of tannin and acid and fruit but the alcohol came through a bit too much for my liking and it detracted from …

Deep dark fruit. Layer complexity. Leather, tobacco, herb. Everything fits nicely. A little hot, but enjoyable nonetheless

Vinturi and decanted at restaurant. Dark purple color. Amazing nose of blueberry pie, cassis, chocolate, toasted oak, mint, and some cigar box. More ripe dark fruit on the palate with mostly cassis and some vanilla and chocolate on the back end. Very ripe and lush but balanced. Good acidity and firm but sweet tannins and a long finish. I will be seeking this wine out.

dark but see through ruby to purple. aromas of chalk, dark fruit, cassis, tobacco, cedar. soft mouthfeel, cocoa, fruit, cedar. fuller bodied and medium+ finish. opens up with time, would benefit from some bottle age or a decant if drinking now.

great taste, still noticible tannins, I would have guessed it for a cab blend

This is one of the best young meritages I have had in a long time. Fruit was very well integrated with the sweet tannins. Red ripe cherries oozed through the palate with a touch of coffee and oak. There was a nice lead pencil, minerality that added complexity. Smooth as silk.
