Opened for dinner party. Thought this was showing signs of oxidation, not over the hill but there was some dried flower and butterscotch notes. Not that good on what was left over on day 2. Off bottle? Maybe these are meant to drink in the first couple years.

Powerful and ripe. There is some development on the nose, its yellow fruits are getting a golden hue. Slightly aromatic, a touch of jelly sweets hint about the variety. Viscous and full on the palate, yet delicate in a way. A complex, lush white with well integrated oak. Serious stuff. Drink now. https://screwcapped.com/saint-cosme-condrieu-2018/

Bargain Hunter or Just Cheap? Once again, my reputation precedes me. While browsing through the many isles of my local mega-wine store, and having been recognized by one of the very helpful salespeople, I was asked, as I am most of the time, if I needed any assistance looking for anything. My usual response is that I’m just looking. But on this particular day, I, for some reason, decided to put all my cards on the table and announce that …

Pear and apricot, medium acid. Still very good on day two. Had not changed much from the last time I had this 18 months ago.

Best served slightly on the warmer side, to enhance the strong floral nose of this wine. Apricots, maybe a hint of green apple. A creamy, voluptuous body ending in a smooth, lemony minerality that is not at all tart. Last of our supply and sad to see it go...

A big, often oafish Viognier that seems a product of the vintage's high temps. Enjoyable but seems new worldish.

Viscous. Golden color. Lemon and mineral on the nose. Lemon and melon on rich, smooth plate. Finishes long. Best to wait a while after opening.

I was really looking forward to getting into this bottle. Opened it with the intent of drinking half one night and half the next. Looking at the label, I was a bit surprised to see 14.5%. Enjoyed this with a nice charcuterie plate before dinner. First glance in the glass showed a nice medium body as would be expected. Alcohol was present on the nose and I think it hid a bit of the delicate aromas. There was a mild …

This was our Thanksgiving wine pairing for the main meal. Really lovely viognier, nice complexity.

Light and crisp, with notes of lemon and honeydew melon and freshly cut grass. A nice Condrieu.

Consistent w my note from January, although just a bit flatter, rounder, not quite as delineated. A little bottle variation I suspect. Still, very delicious with crispy black bass and dandelion greens.

Splendid classic Condrieu. Dunnuck and I offer the same score. Not fair to characterize this as “full bodied”. If you call it that, there’s no descriptor left for Condrieu like Guigal La Doriane which is twice as rich and full bodied as this. It’s medium bodied, richer than Vernay, lighter than Guigal, and much more complex than Faury. Certainly apricots, as all note, but not tangerine, really, more green almond, wisteria, violets, green apple skin and red grapefruit, with a …
