Last bottle. Still my favorite vintage of this wine. Can go longer.

I like Alliet’s base Chinon a lot as an everyday wine, and the 2014 is the best one I’ve tasted. Quite fresh and light on its feet (12.5%) with tons of red berry fruit, very well-behaved herbaceousess, and some nice earthy notes in the background. The finish isn’t terribly long, but a delicious bottle nevertheless.

Russk. Still like a lot and one of my favorite chinon producers.

Russk. My WOTN#2. Though not universally enjoyed. Open the bottle with the expats at our house. This one was significantly more earthy than the prior and more like the first bottle tasted at wine watch. Get more.

Russk. The 2014 is soft and fleshy, with notes of red cherry and iron. 91+ The 2015 is more minerally, chalky, and full of tension. 92pts. Both are savory, low alcohol (12.5%) and great examples of Cab Franc in the Loire, or anywhere. Based on these examples, I conclude that I like this producer.

Russk. Loire Valley tasting at wine watch New Store. One of my favorite Chinon. I bought some at $18. Very earthy. Nose almost tuscan.

Served beside a Cali Pinot, which was an interesting comparison. The Pinot had a much better bouquet; more feminine and ethereal. The Alliet had a greener and more funky aroma, but on the palate it was far more complex and expressive with minerals, bell peppers, and an acidic and muscular backbone that paired far better with food than the Pinot.

This bottle had the telltale graphite, red fruits and herbal notes of Cab Franc, but the limestone really stood out like in the 2007 Raffault and several 2015 Sancerres. It was just very clean and beautiful Chinon that is drinking perfectly now.

Very nice cab franc/chinon. Lighter fruit evident - blueberry primarily. Light oak. Light tannins. Very smooth - so much better than recent vintages of Chinon! A very beautiful wine to drink

This was the fifth time I've had this wine. Initially had a strange aroma that took about 45 minutes to blow off. Once that happened, it was beautiful. Perhaps a bit meatier and more substantial than other times. Graphite and fruits dominate, with some olives thrown in there too. 90ish

That gorgeous '14 cab franc fruit, really vivid and textured. Some tree bark here, too, and good depth. One of the best vintages of the last half dozen years or so.

Beautifully textured and pure with plenty of crushed minerals, tapenade, black fruits and the classic green pepper note. I totally agree(for once) with WS !

Very bright. Lots of sappy red berries here with a prominent ashtray thing going on. Plenty of high tones and acidic drive, but with enough sour-tinged flesh on the bones. Light tannins, medium bodies and decent intensity.

A big beam of raspberry fruit with all sorts of herbal, animale, tobacco-ey stuff in the backcourt. Reasonable depth, with fairly soft tannins and moderate length on the finish. More old school than i expected.
