Dirty & Rowdy Viognier Alder Springs Vineyard

bit of air to start. Still a super pleasant color, nose has blood orange, tropical notes and a hint of vanilla. Medium body, creamy texture, tropical tree fruits, good acid. Still very youthful, but held its own with a lamb burger dish.

Finally opened up for a pepper, smoked turkey thanksgiving dinner. Highly aromatic and a delight with the meal.

aromatics are nice, but a bit simple on the palate. drink up

Really enjoyed this more than my last bottle (almost 2 years ago now). Delicate floral and fruity nose, smooth melon and tropical fruits on the palate. Nice easy afternoon drinking. Better served on the colder side, enough flavor to withstand it and as it warms I get a slight bitterness in the finish.

Consistent with prior note. Delicious, honest, and very pleasurable.

This is the best '18 cali viognier on the market & one of the best I have had in a real long time. The bouquet on this thing is guava-passionfruit-melon all day every way. Really fantastic and easy finish, off-dry but not off-putting. Enjoy on a hot summer day brunch (at 14%!) or just pop and enjoy with some light dinner fare (maybe salmon or white fish, some jammy reduction on pork might work). Balanced and ready to rock ASAP. …

Very pleasurable. Bright but subtle melon and tropical fruits in a well-balanced, light-to-medium-bodied package. The texture is velvet with a faint oiliness. Very drinkable and food friendly.

** (but very close to ***) Similar to the '16. The words of my TN still fit: "Medium weight and very long with near-perfect balance. At once weighty and elegant, taking you somewhere beyond the here-and-now. It needs a minute or two to open, but after that just continues to pull you in. This is pleasant, but nowhere near as tasty as the D&R Familiar Blanc.
