{cork, 13%} Nice clean cork, good level, decanted for sediment only. Sweetly acid-dominated; aging compost flavours, rotting strawberries and leaves, a lifting hint of volatility, discreet oak, very little tannin, medium weight, medium length finish. At peak.

Corked. Strong on the nose, palate flat and a bit harsh. All confirmed by the opening of a second bottle. Grrrr.

Another great bottle from this vintage , sound cork only 1-2mm wet Nose med garnet colour commensurate with age. 15/15 Nose classic old cabernet, cedar & currants, gentle old oak; medium-bodied, with medium acid, and a soft tannins, Spicy and pure 27/30 Palate aged Cabernet everything just so , medium/long finish 40/44 Overall 17 yo , every time I have this wine it surprises me , maybe its the Biodynamic practises , hand picking etc that makes it different from …

{cork} Every bit as lovely as previous bottles; sweet tangy fruit, soft dusty tannins, medium acid. Medium weight, leafy and cabernet-like, but with dark currant and raspberry flavours. Oak seems to have disappeared; it's very much driven by the fruit. Enchanting wine, very drinkable indeed, but not massively complex.

Really good structure, the fruit is perfectly ripe but neither too ripe or under ripe, the red fruit is crunchy and fresh yet the silky tannin and subtle oak smooth things out and work well together. There is ink and pencil shavings poking out in the background and it all comes together really well. Fine effort and to me, what I want to see from Coonawarra Cabernet trying to give and Aussie version of a well made Bordeaux blend.

This wine tonight just shows that Coonawarra Cabernets need time to show their best , this wine is 16 years old now and drinking at its peak , that said it will probably hold for a more years but it’s the complete package now Opened 2 bottles , both corks firm and had only penetrated 1-2mm , one unfortunately was mildly corked , the other wine was brilliant privilege to drink - thanks Dennis Vice

{cork, 13%} A fair copy of last October's bottle, although maybe just a bit more muted and flatter. Good level, cork was fine; nothing obviously wrong. Objectively, very nice. Just a bit less vivid than that example.

{cork, 13%} Just as lovely as last ear's bottle; soft cedary oak, a brambly, sweet-basil-tinged dark red fruitiness, with a composty touch. The garnet colour has an orangey hue to it, low-medium resolved gentle dusty tannins are quite sweet, there's medium acidity too. The wine is about light/medium-bodied in weight, and despite a cedar-box resemblance to bordeaux, it's rather too fruity to impersonate successfully. Perhaps it lacks much complexity, but it's still hugely enjoyable, with a dry, medium-length finish. At …

NobleRottersSydney - Boutiques (360 Bar & Dining, Sydney) : {cork, 13%} (Graeme) Boutique from Coonawarra is something of a paradox. But Highbank back in 2002 only produced about 1000 cases; this was apparently made by Trevor Mast of Mt Langi fame. Biodynamic vineyard. Two-thirds cabernet sauvignon, the rest merlot with a dash of franc. Lovely garnet colour commensurate with age. The bouquet is aged, classic old cabernet, tinged with typical Coonawarra sweetness; cedar & currants, gentle old oak; medium-bodied, with …

Loved this! Supple soft fruit and no tannin lead to a long finish

Mint, tobacco and some unexpected apricot. Palate is short and a bit weedy.
