Still drinking well, but should be opened now or very soon. It has lost some fruit but still is a delicious Napa cab

A difficult vintage that still delivered a great wine with great balance between fruit and the savory and herbaceous character, which really shines here. Another great wine made by Philippe Melka. Cab with 4% Petit Verdot. Nose of oak, sweet tobacco, black fruit, clove, dried herbs. Palate is sweet and davory at the sane time, with ripe cassis, blackberry, chocolate and vanilla, dried herbs , leather and some earthy accents. Still a little too oaky for ma taste, but at …

What a fantastic Napa Cab! This is drinking very well, deep red color, blackberry jam and currants with a fantastic finish.

I’m partial to the midweight, more classical Bordeaux style of successful 2011s. The Vineyard 29 Estate Cab delivers well on that front, with short but ripe tannins that are currently drinking just right. This bottle needs a bit more flavor intensity to merit a higher score. And of course, less alcohol—no 2011 is going to carry 14.5% well.

End of drinking window shows very mellowed profile. Really love this aspect. Might be missing a little bit of punch, but fantastic.

Had to bump up the rating slightly as it paired exquisitely with the Pepper Steak Filet at Dal Rae. It's at or near it's peak.

Double Blind Wine Tasting. #2 of the day. Reddish purple color. Excellent texture. Cedar, oak, vanilla, dark cherries. Nice combo of Napa and Bordeaux. Quite lovely.

1hr+ decant. Dark purple color. Powerful nose and wine. Lots of baking spices and some green elements. Not as refined as the previous bottle I had. Lots of years left. Way overpriced.

Napa California cellar treat. 2011 Vineyard 29 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate St. Helena. Mid-garnet, brick edges; berry, black fruit, cassis, mint and vanilla nose (18 months in French oak); balanced; mid-big body; semi-tight; long semi-chewy fruity finish; nice depth. 17-17.5 UC Davis, 92-93 other scales.

This is crazy clever and light on its feet. Very dry, complex, and very elegant. I like it..Nice finish, slightly hollow but well balanced. Drink or Hold

Another example of a Napa 2011 (in general the 2011s were roundly trashed by WS) now tasting excellent. I give the vintners credit--they said it would happen.

Celebrating our 7yr Anniversary!! Had to a have a wine from our Honeymoon! Four words describe this wine: High quality, unique, and great! 45+ minute decant. Very strong, unique nose of minerals, vegetables, and rhubarb. Wine is elegant and complex; with a subtle tartness and spice. Insanely long finish. It's really good and definitely worth 2011 prices, but not sure about today's levels. BTW, cellar tracker is no where near accurate. This goes for well over $100+!

Well structured and balanced. Tannins were smooth. Vanilla, chocolate and oak were the backbone. Dark red, almost purple in the glass.

Wow, great wine with complex flavors. Strong oak finish but hints of coffee and chocolate. Reminds me of chocolate covered cherries.
