Good on day 1 and excellent on day 2. Bright, rich, woodsy, and all around a nice wine. In a good spot if given some air.

Smooth hearty wine that ends a bit short. I've shaken Ian's hand. I'm a fan. I always factor in price. It's not just how good the wine is, but how much I've paid for the pleasure.

The 2016 Old Vines Grenache is a beautiful cherry red color with bright fruit on nose and palate. Very balanced and delicious, with some lingering deliciousness on the palate. This was even better on the second day. A versatile wine which goes well with a variety of cheeses, meats, beans and even spicy food. Enjoy now or hold for a bit.

Berserker Day purchase to try out the wines of Ian Brand. This starts with all the hallmarks of Grenache. It’s a pretty, strawberry red color, and it has bright, fresh, ripe red fruit on the nose and palate. Historic Vineyard Society Tasting, nose of lovely, rich, black fruit, dusty gravel road, and spring flowers, same on the palate, medium/big body, tasty, almost mouth filling fruit, fairly fruit forward, two years in the cellar will help, $40 price is off putting to me.
