Floral, cherry, spice, raspberries, mint and underbrush. Nice medium finish. Not over the top Carmenere.

Precisely what you’d expect. Vegetal, but not overdone. Decanted for about an hour, then served with pulled pork sandwiches. Smooth and approachable now - drink up!

Very nice wine for the price. Good fruit, low acidity, soft tannins with a medium to long finish.

My first bottle. Sourced from massal selected Camenere vines planted in 1945. Not decanted. Paired this with blackened marinated pork chops on the grill. Dark purple black color. Surprisingly round with approachable tannins. Notes of stewed red fruit, ripe berries, smoke and leather. Supple finish. This was a great value at $17. 90 points.

If you like Loire Cab Franc, I think you'll love this. Carmenere tends to be over-oaked or over-cropped, or something worse, but this wine is pure and fresh, with copious varietal character and beautiful ripeness. The minimalist winemaking is clear and appreciated. Aromas of grilled bell peppers, tomato leaf, espresso, seedy blackberry, blackcurrant, watermelon candy, a little violet, raw steak and orange juice. Fresh and juicy, the fruit is foremost and all the leafy, vegetal and savory elements only assert …

My first bottle was in July 2017 and it was decanted for 1~2 hours. It was rather earthy with strong dark fruit, good acid and a medium finish; not very complex. My second bottle was April 2018 and this time it was decanted over seven hours then cooled. Dark fruit and earthy nose, dark fruit, smoke, earth, spice, nice acidic bite and a very lengthy, drying finish. Much improved with lots of air, so I guess this needs another couple …

Deep violet color. This nose screams pepper, lots of black peppercorn and bell pepper notes with smokiness and black fruits. Nice acidity and strong tannins with a lingering finish.
