Quick decant. Nose seems a bit closed and reductive, primarily showing black plum fruit. The palate is quite dry and lean in body with an intense beam of black plum, acidity, and intense dried thyme herbals. Pliable but strong tannins underpinning with black tea, granite, and plum skins. A different take on the grape but I’d like a little more ripe fruit.

Smoky and earthy Gamay nose. Rustic and earthy on the palate with spice and red fruit. Excellent.

Nice gamay. Medium light food friendly. Could easily be overpowered, but nice with lighter food.

Very light, red-fruited with a slight spiciness to it. Like this a lot.

Pretty nose shows cranberry, rose petal, crunchy feel, orange peel, sweet herbs. Palate is nicely fresh, bright, hint of spice, raspberry, nice red fruits. Nicely made, though it's hard to separate it from their Pinots. Fun overall.

I was really looking forward to a thorough and detailed tasting with Evan Martin, but on arrival at 10am for our appointment, we were informed he only had at most 30 minutes due to the not-totally-unexpected fact that he was going to have to start picking that morning. When the moment is right you can't wait. So, we had to run through a bunch of wines rather quickly. I took cursory notes and will not rate the wines as a …

Youthful purple in color, aromas of black brambles, red berries, a certain floral-herbal lilac/tarragon- that I can't quite put my finger on, and PG Tips tea bag sort of earthiness. This is some serious gamay, no bubble gum or VA here. In the mouth, the wine is medium bodied, high acid, medium tannins. While the nose is pretty moderate, the palate is quite intense and concentrated. Flavors match the aroma, but that earthy-juicy element really shines on the palate with …
