Doga delle Clavule (Tenuta Caparzo) Vermentino Toscana IGT

I agree - it's a wonderful wine! Dried straw, honey, mineral, a bit of tropical fruit, great acidity. At our shop (Thief Wine - www.thiefwine.com) we've got it for $13.95, though; a great deal compared to other shops in Milwauke selling it for about $20.

This wine rocked my face off with scallops with mango cucumber salsa. Enough acid to stand up against the citrus in the salsa, but smooth enough not to overpower the light sweetness/creaminess of the scallops. What a really fantastic paring!

Peaches and wildly tropical. I love vermentino from Marmentino (sp?). Really lovely peachy with the watery, lively palate. Very clean and delightfully refreshing. Not bad at $19.99. Good minerality, salty, freshness.
