Satellite Burgundy theme (i.e lesser known villages) : Beautifully pale colour. Winemaker imprint was quite strong; a lot reduction with ripe tropical fruit so I immediately said ‘18 PYCM Saint-Aubin. Superb energy and tension that balanced the ripeness well, an absolutely delicious wine.

Delicious, light and bright, with a tang of fresh herbs.

Friday hangout at Domaine (Chicago, IL) : A very vigorous shake helped dispel a lot of the reduction here. Overall a little dilute and thin on the palate, this was missing breadth, even though it had pleasant acidity and fruit.

Enjoyed with roast char and garden vegetables. Wow, this is great stuff, definitely shows some oak and richness on the nose and attack, but racy with great limey brightness and gingery intensity on the finish. With air, a distinct scent of lemon joins the bouquet and the palate displays more sour and herbal notes. More powerful than refined at present. However you slice it, really good.

Pale yellow, crystal bright. Gunpowder, green apple and anise nose - wow. Candied pear fruit flavour is the first thing i noticed, then lemon...oh so ripe with long, apple pie finish.. I judge it to be lacking acid for all that ripeness and its a little tiring. Enjoyable but not crushable or age able.

Such a magnificent wine!! Bursting with energy, chalk, and minerals. Great balance makes one thirsty for another glass.

so musky and pungent, it’s got excellent fruit, dimension and balance, and a finish that lingers for a minute. Was a little effervescent to start and that blew off, replaced by sheer flavor and volume. Reminds me of a great Genevrieres. Even better than I remember prior bottles

This wine has citrus notes, great acidity, good length and a freshness I very much enjoy. Each glass seemed to get rounder and more flavourful. I am a big fan of his reasonably priced St.Aubin vineyards and this wine illustrates what a great bargain of a white burgundy premier cru from this area this is! I have had great success in cellaring this wine and am still drinking the 2009 vintage. I have yet to have a corked or oxidized …

gun flint/sulphur scents mix in with the fruit to create an extroverted bouquet which I found very pleasing. The palate has lots of green melon, some pear and green apple to form a musky/fleshy personality with some balance (although less than I was expecting). Easy drinking

Au Mas des Abeilles, à Vaison. Un excellent Saint-Aubin. La bouche est un peu beurrée, bien fruitée, avec juste ce qu’il faut de tension, une belle finale de longueur appréciable, avec une dimension saline. 91 pts
